CCI Muzzleloading Primers are designed specifically for the Inline Muzzleloading hunter. CCI is constantly testing and improving their primers, which results in primers that are more sensitive, easier to seat, and more compatible with today’s inline muzzleloading rifles. In order to achieve the cleanest burn possible, modern non-corrosive and non-mercuric initiator mixtures are used in these primers.
In addition to the fact that they ( CCI 209 Primers ) are milder than standard 209 shotshell primers, primers designed specifically for muzzleloading rifles have the additional benefit of not forcing the powder charge forward, which helps to maintain consistent velocities and reduce the formation of crud rings. It should be noted that these primers are not intended for use in shotshells; instead, they are intended for use in muzzleloading rifles.
